english errors

i was typing a comment at my good friend aa's blog. i typed, "please bare with me." but it didn't look right. thank God for the internet, researching on these seemingly unimportant things were made easy. in a few seconds, i found the answer. i came across this site, common errors in english. it explains the difference between bear and bare. well, bear means two things. bear as in teddy bear, that's pretty simple. bear can also mean to carry. example, a pregnant mother is "bearing a child." bare on the other hand, means undress. strippers bare their bodies, hence the word barenaked right? read more about it here.

i almost asked aa to "bare with me", as in "undress with me". hehehe... funny!

Very interesting ... lots of common erros on the website, but I didn't have time to go through all of them.

Hmm, I just used 3 dots above (...). This is a sign that I'm not composing my thoughts in sentences, but rather just fragments. This is something I only see with computer people. I guess computer people have a tendency to ramble.

Anyway, the other common error I often notice is the use of the word ADVICE. I think the culprit here is MS WORD. If you type the phrase "Please advise," it will give you the green underline advicing (hehe) you to change the word to "Please advice". That doesn't make sense, but a lot of people take the change.

Good find daderz! I love your blog!

This is really funny Daderz! Maybe you were thinking about Marky when you were typing =P

Its not surprising to find that most people here in North America are quite 'challenged' with their writing skills.
Other common errors I also notice are the use (or misuse) of "their/they're" and "were/we're". Ahhh, the Orange County linguists! ----->

Hope you guys are doing ok! Keep it coming Daderz, its fun reading your blogs! =)

I agree Da! Your blog is so interesting (compared to my failed attempt of a blog). Everything is so nice, the layout, the pictures and the content.
